12th March 2024: Tamiya 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.1
After the trials of the Rivet Joint, what could be more relaxing than a back to basics build of the Spitfire. And in it's most classic incarnation, a Battle of Britain Mk.1 from 1940. The aircraft needs no introduction, and it is a modern moulding by the kit manufacturer that all others aspire to be - should be fun!

AMT/Combat Conversions 1/72 Boeing RC-135W
Well this has been an interesting build. Pairing the venerable AMT KC-135 mould with the Combat Conversions "Rivet Joint" resin kit to produce an imposing model of this super snooper. The AMT kit is a challenge in its own right, and the conversion did add a few bits of excitement as well. But happy to have finally conquered it and I'm not unhappy with the result!

Featured Build: Liberator for the RAF
Revell 1/48 B-24D (built as a Liberator II)
When I was asked if I could build a 1/48 RAF Liberator II my initial reaction was "no" because no such kit exists. However a little research revealed that if you start with a B-24D it is just about doable with a little courage with the scalpels, saws and putty.

The Revell 1/48 B-24D is a 1970s mould but still good and with a little care and attention still holds its own. Even after having been butchered into an RAF variant!
